There are now 6 Green Sandpipers in and around Dewsbury Sewage Works. Most of the time these birds are spending feeding time on the only true muddy area of the works but they fly frequently on to the banks of tyhe River Calder just below Mill Bank Thornhill where the river at this moment is showing plenty of good muddy margins.

A Tufted Duck pair has hatched 3 small chicks and is keeping them on the lagoon adjacent to Hotworks Mill. There was around 140 Swifts feeding arund the filter beds of Dewsbury Sewage Works today and there is 8 Lapwings on the works on the central beds.
