Little Egret roosting on the banks of the River Calder

A Little Egret was roosting last night on the banks of the River Calder a few hundred yards from Dewsbury Town Centre.

Its the 2nd day a Little Egret has been present in this area.

There was a steady Southerly passage of Common Swifts through the fields behind the Huntsman Public House at Shaw Cross Dewsbury  yesterday morning.Around 200 birds an hour. There was also a flock of some 35 House Sparrows feeding just below the Waterc Tower on the same site
