Migrants still slow appear in our part of the valley

Things are very quiet in our part of the Calder valley at the moment.

There are 3 singing Chiff Chaffs between Ossett and Dewsbury with 2 birds singing on the mill bank side of the valley and one bird singing on Kerries reserve.There is still a single Green Sandpiper on the Calder near earlsheaton and there was 3 Oyster catcher in the valley this morning with 2 birds on Dewsbury Sewage works and a single bird on the banks of the calder near Saville Town.2 Gadwall are behaving like they are looking for a breeding spot on Dewsbury Sewage Works and there was 2 male Goosander at the bottom of Healy Lane Ossett this morning.

Most of the gathering Pied Wagtails have now dispersed from theSewage works at Dewsbury with only around 18 birds there this morning along with just 2 Meadow Pipits.

On Kerries Reserve Ossett there is 2 Willow Tits coming on to the feders with around 5 Long Tailed Tits and 4 Great Tits.

There is still 15 Teal on Dewsbury Sewage works along with 26 Mallard and 5 Coot.

Water rails were calling on both Kerries Reserve and Dewsbury Sewage Works this morning
