The first Brimstone and Orange Tip Butterflies appeared on Thornhill Wetlands today.Birdwise rather quiet with Summer visitord still somewhat down on last year.No grasshopper Warblers on the wetlands so far and only about half the Reed and Sedge warblers have returned to last years sites.

The exceptions  being Swallows and Swifts which appear localy to have very healthy numbers back at some old sites.

It is nice to see our first Large Red damselleflies out on the Reserve at Kerries today(see photogallery). As yet we have had no records for Cuckoo on our patch.
