A pair of common moorhens produced 6 young at Kartong (Western Division}in early December.This is the first breeding record for the Gambia.Also at the same location Great Reed Warbler caught on the 25th and 28th of April.

A Dwarf Bittern was at Kotu in December/January and 20 Black Storks were near the River gambia National Park Central River Division on the 24th of January.A Bat Hawk was at Lamin Kotu on the 5th of November 2009.30 Ruppells Vultures were near N"jau(Central River Division) on the 6th of November and an Ayres Hawk Eagle was seen atTanku Bolong Bao Bolon Wetland Reserve,North Bank Division on the 5th of January.

A little Buttonquail was observed at Farasuto Western Division on the 7th of December and on the17th of November 2 Senegal Lapwings were on a small [pool at Lamin Lodge.

A Red Phalarope was feeding in rice fields at Jahally Swamp near Georgetown on the 12th of November and a Red necked Nightjar corpse was on the road at Wassu(Central River District)A Black and White Mannakin was reported from Brufoot(Western District) on the12th of July.This if confirmed would be a first record for the Gambia.
