After returning from Laguna De Fuenta De Pedro we made a quick check on the sewage ponds at Rute to see if anything new had arrived on the site.

There was 3 Green Sandpipers,1 Common Sandpipers,1 Little Ringed Plover,2 Black Winged Stilts and 2 White Wagtails.Otherwise the site was very quiet.

We concluded our day with a walk up Alto Rute. This is a very picturesque walk that takes ue above Rute and gives us a very spectacular view of the town itself.

There was very few birds in this site.

A single Blue Rock Thrush was in the first small  quarry on our descent up the hill.5 Crossbils were on pines about hand 3 Red Necked Nightjars were in shrubs near the little power station.2 Goshawk were observed on our walk.1 was hunting in the woods and another was soaring over Rute for around 10 minutes while we stopped for a break about 3/4 up the hill.

A Lesser spotted Woodpecker was in pines near the little power station about half way up the hill.

As with a lot of sites we visited birds were very thin on the ground at this site.
