Sedge Warblers at last arriving on local breeding sites

There are 3 singing male Sedge warblers on Dewsbury Sewage Works this morning.Also still 3 singing Reed warblers.There was also a good verbal contribution from at least 2 Water Rails on different sites so it must be assumed that the species is in breeding territories again this year. Reed and Sedge Warblers back on my local patch this morning

There are 3 singing Reed Warblers in phragmitese on Dewsbury Sewage works this morning.Also 1 Sedge warbler is also on the sewage works. Also on the works this morning single Little Ringed Plover.5 singing male Whitethroats are now in territory on the works.

3 Yellow Wagtails and Swift at Dewsbury Sewage works this morning.

3 Yellow Wagtais were on the filter beds at the Dewsbury Sewae Works this morning.The 2 males and a female were flushed towards the Western end of the works Around 140 Hirrundines were also over the filter beds including some 35 House martins and the rest made up mostly of swallows. 2 Whitethroats...

Little Ringed Plover arrives on Sewage works

A Little Ringed Plover was present on Dewsbury Sewage Works this morning.Also present were 3 Shoveller(1 male 2 females)52 Teal,2 Gadwall 2 Tufted Ducks and 28 Mallard 2 Kingfishers are displaying on the River calder at the bottom of Healy Road Ossett. Hirrundines in good numbers passing Westerly up the valley this evening
